Sorry this took so long to get out. But, here are my notes from the conference call. Just remember I was sitting in my car in the far northern reaches of Maine so my recall of the conversations may be a little off. So, please let me know where I need to either correct things or add things.

Agenda Items:

� IHS Reunion update was provide to Frank.

� Review of where we are going into the new year

o Bill White/George: Electronic media/Advertising - Bill and George to meet as soon as possible to figure out how to best approach and implement this. Bill assured that whatever was appropriate would be doable.

o Frank: Communications with Key West Navy folks - Frank advised that we need to have a firm date before he could communicate with the Navy folks.

� Inputs that might affect the July/August 2013 dates�if any. There were no further inputs relative to the dates. If we do this in the summer, some might not come; if we do it after mid-Sept, those are (or have spouses) in the educational fields would not be able to attend. DP will end this e-mail with some date recommendations

� Tax implications to IHS. It was finally decided that Frank had to take the lead as he is the treasurer. But both Bill and George agreed to do the leg work for Frank.

� Thoughts on Technical Presentation coordination: Was agreed to drop the �technical presentations� and add �rememberances of hydrofoils� or �Sea Stories of the PHM Era.� There were a number of suggestions and Frank volunteered to do one of them.

� The following committee chairs were suggested without descent.

o Electronic Media:

o Marketing/Advertising: George

o Navy Liaison: Frank

o Program: David � David agreed to check the KW Chamber of Commerce for events during this period. The web site is not very useful. DP sent them an e-mail requesting information (23 Jan).

o Lodging Liaison: David/Les

o Transportation: Les (wasn’t on the call to descent). Was stated that the only time we need to provide transportation is to and from the cocktail and reception at the sunset event at Sunset Lounge, Sigsbee Point.

o ISH Liaison: David, Chair/Frank, co-chair

o Registration: John Monk agreed when I called him later in the week

o Finance: Frank

The biggest issue now is coming up with a date. So, I am going to propose a couple of dates and see if we can narrow in on it. Of course, this is 2013:

Am picking mid-week (Tue/Wed/Thur) with the thought that folks who might want to spend a longer period of time could include the weekend on either end.

Navy Hydrofoilers Reunion

Update as of

During the last quarter, the Reunion Committee has made good progress. We have

elected to open the reunion to virtually anyone associated in any way with military

hydrofoils including, but not limited to, the PHMs their MLSG and their R&D

predecessors. . Accordingly we re-named the event �Navy Hydrofoilers Reunion’

After some careful investigation, we are now planning a 2013 event. We are are

considering a July/August time fame, because of better prices at that time of year.

However, this is not a final decision and alternative months will continue to be evaluated.

A summary of the discussions follow:

� We have formed a committee as proposed at the last BOD meeting, presently

consisting of Dave Patch, Frank Horn, Bill White, George Jenkins, Joel

Billingsley, Joel Roberts, John Monk, and Les Jackson Most of these are board

members and several have recent relevant planning experience. We plan to add

a member with recent direct hydrofoil reunion planning experience.

� The event’s name is �Navy Hydrofoilers Reunion�

� The venue will be Trumbo Point Annex, Key West

� The event will happen in 2013. A 2-4 day event is being planned with July or

August the target months.

� The Format will be primarily social. The goal is to renew old friendships in the

hydrofoil community and make new ones.

o Professional presentations may be feasible but a chair to organization of

these presentations has not been identified.

o If presentations are scheduled, they will be optional to the attendees..

� The Reunion is intended to be self-funded. Up-front costs will be recouped via a

�Registration Fee.�. Meals will be pay-as-you go.. Housing will be arranged by

attendees

� At this point, it likely that some of the attendees will be IHS members. We

expect that number to increase substantially as a result of this reunion

� Planning status to date

o Lodging: Plan is to use the lodging facilities located at Trumbo Point

Annex.

? Discussions with MWR lodging have started

? Discussions with DOD Gateway in Key West have started

o Discussions for the use of Sunset Lounge Sigbee Point have started

o Frank Horn has taken the lead to contact the Base Commander

o The dialogue and approval of the Key West Base Fleet Liaison has started

o Promotion

? Bill White has taken the lead to establish the �social media�

mechanisms. Efforts to date have indicated a significant interest in

attending the reunion

? George Jenkins has taken the lead in �advertising� the event using

appropriate media.

� The Reunion Planning Committee meets via conference call monthly.

As the �official� IHS member of the Reunion committee, Frank Horn? will provide

routine updates as appropriate.
