The first thing that must be done is to determine exactly what type of cancer your aunt has. Just because there are tumors in her lung doesn't mean she has "lung" cancer. It could be a metastasis from the breast. It is important to know the type so that the correct treatments are used. So, they need to do a biopsy on the tumors. Also, I would recommend a PET scan. It allows the doctors to see all the spots that are suspected of being cancer. It's used to help "stage" the patient. You can help your aunt by becoming as knowledgeable about the disease and it's treatments and support her through her journey.
