PROUD SON / PAFB FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER Vero Beach Wedding

VINTAGE STYLE / FLORIDA EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER
Something I rarely talk about on my blog: shooting style! Every photographer has one, yet most (including me!) say: "Don't lock me in to just one!" And, I've assume if you're looking at my photos, you know what it is or assume it's this or that style. I would say that I'm fairly classic in style with a love for contemporary poses and vivid color. I stalk all the magazines and catalogs to spark creative ideas while never trying to copy. It will always look fake! In particular, Anthropologie is amazing in their ability to make anything look fabulous and for a fleeting moment make most of us forget we can't afford any of it unless it shows up in Vintage consignment shops. As a photographer, I also stalk other photographers blogs. I love to learn about various techniques & sometimes I see such talent, I ask myself "Do you really need to even own a camera?!" But then I say, hey, "focus on what you do well and appreciate the rest", which I do.

Recently I've discovered a blog called  ruffledblog.com  and I've become addicted to vintage wedding posts. I can only assume that my small town southern roots have been awakened. Much of what I see in these beautiful vintage weddings is what I grew up with, yet at that time thought, "Wow! Can't wait until I can buy the good stuff!" when in fact the simple stuff is incredibly beautiful.

I'm sure my photography style won't become vintage as there's not much of a demand on beachside. The colors on the beach are so vivid and I'd not want to miss that as a bride either but it will be fun to incorporate a few special vintage photos for the wedding album. Secondly, my choice to capture vivid photos is purely selfish. For the money I shell out for Canon prime lenses, I'm going to squeeze out every possible photon!

For any brides interested, there are a few vintage shops in the area. And what would a post be without photos? These photos are from a great little shop in Indialantic (and that's my photo on their homepage, nice discovery!) I digress, the shop is called Cottage Rose. These photos were taken with my favorite Palm Pre camera phone. Thought I would look pretty odd walking thru taking picures with my biiiiiig Canon stuff.

From regular, to vintage, or maybe not. I can' bring myself to going all the way!!

I love this shop. They have everything from vintage teddy bears to boas. Don't those feathers make your face tickle? Who wore that and for what?!
