I have eagerly awaited meeting Kelly...face to face that is, as thru our phone calls and emails I felt we were already friends. From the start, I loved her easy going, confident manner. She had contacted me from Wisconsin some time ago to discuss her destination wedding here in Melbourne Beach. It was to be a very small, intimate ceremony at her parents home nearby. She just wanted a few special pictures to preserve the memory of this ceremony as she is planning a more elaborate reception in Wisconsin in June. She informed me it is still cold there and not a fun time of year to have a big celebration. Guess I've been in Florida way too long because, to me, cold weather in April seems so foreign. How can that be? Isn't April spring and the flowers are blooming?!
Photographing this moment for Kelly & John was lots of fun because at larger weddings there is little or no time to socialize or get acquainted with extended families. This was a nice change. I felt like I was visiting new neighbors. Kelly & John's parents are awesome. And what's really great is both sets of parents live right next door to each other so there won't be any disagreement about which family to visit during holidays, etc. Whew! I really like that part! And John & Kelly? They have known each other since forever, went thru high school together (maybe even grade school!) so they have a really unique relationship. In my mind, it seems there's something special about knowing what your husband or wife was like as a kid or teenager.
John & Kelly, thank you for trusting me to capture this special day for you. It was a real privilege to witness your happy moment! Wishing you happiness forever!
