Potato Project Click here to view ONLY this message
Spearheaded by the Youth Charity Committee, and Chet Harris, the Potato Project coordinator for the district, men from the Deering Baptist Church brought 1,000 50-pound bags of potatoes (50,000 pounds) to a warehouse in Johnson City, N.Y. and distributed the potatoes to food banks, soup kitchens, churches and other individuals that provide help for the hungry in the Binghamton area. These potatoes are provided by The Society of St. Andrew Meals for Millions, or "The Potato Project."

On April 3, fourteen persons from our community, seven of whom are members of the Deering Baptist Church are making a trip to Zimbabwe. We look forward to not only appreciating the wonderful and unique adventure, excitement and inspiration of breathtaking scenery, but also at Africa University we will observe the Centennial Celebration of Methodism in Zimbabwe. We'll keep everyone posted on the bulletin board of happenings. For more info contact Ruth Westberry..
