Fished the Holloway Resevoir on Friday 5/3 and Saturday 5/4
Friday: Fished from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Only caught 1 cat fish near the swimming beach. Noted that I saw good marks on sonar in the river channel but could not get anything going.
Saturday, fished from 6:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Caught 5 walleye, 3 catfish and 2 small mouth bass. 1 walleye was a shorty, and the remaining 'eyes ranged in size from 18.5 inches to 20.25 inches. Had a great day. My son, Evan was thrilled with our catch!! The walleye came on Rapala Shad Rap Glass Brown Crawdad (which caught the majority of all fish) Berkley Flicker Shad Black/Gold Sunset, Warrior flutter spoon, "She'll Do" on lead core, and Warrior flutter spoon "Boy Girl" on lead core both at 1 1/2 colors out. All lures running at about 7 feet down and fish came in about 12-Feet of water. Ran at 1.9 mph, water temp 59 to 62. Water stained with limited visibility, but fishable.
