Privacy and Consent 08-22-18
My clients all sign release of information forms, HIPAA forms, etc so that doctor's and others can discuss issues with me. However, I have a leasing office telling me that I need power of attorney before they will talk with me. The client was in their office with me and needed my help and said as much. I know this cannot be correct, but I wanted to leave a message here for feedback on what you would advise. I never had anybody ask for such a powerful legal document and it has always been the case that once HIPPA forms are signed etc that i am good to go to help and it is legal!!! HIPAA says so.
