GRADS / FL HOSPITAL EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER Vero Beach Wedding

CINDY + PAUL / INDIALANTIC FL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER Click here to view ONLY this message
Lesson learned. When you have a high school coach + teacher  + super athletes get married, it's going to be fun! What a fantastic wedding. A hot day with rains that moved the supposedly outdoor reception indoors, but the fun never waivered. Cindy & Paul knew the weather mattered not. It was their wedding day with friends & family surrounding them with love & well wishes. I don't think I've seen this many teachers, coaches & sports lovers in a space this small outside of school ever. And party mode.........yes please.

This little guy wanted everyone to know he was the ring "bear"er. Cutest little fellow ever.

Cindy started out with getting ready at the Melbourne Beachside Hilton so we took our time leaving to get some fun pictures. Then onto the beautiful Holy Name of Jesus Church. Fr.Tony performed the ceremony & I can't say enough about the fantastic job he did. I can see why everyone loves him.

This is Paul with his brother. They are super competitive. In fact, Paul is competitive with just about everyone, including Cindy. It's his nature. He's a coach. In this photo, I'm guessing he's saying something like "I'm going to walk down this aisle and get married before you!" or something like that.

Apparently Paul said something really funny. Although I can get a lot of laughs too, but not intentionally. Sometimes I forget to look behind me for obstacles.

And yes, Paul & Cindy are really in love & beautiful together.

Of course Paul couldn't pass up a little competiton with the cupcakes. But see how caring he was afterwards!  Instead of a traditonal wedding cake, Paul & Cindy chose a cupcake tower from SweetByHolly. Perfect choice & a big hit with everyone, especially me. Everyone loved getting to sample the many different kinds & flavors, which seemed endless. Fun! Love how brides nowadays aren't afraid to change things up a bit.

And don't you just love the expression in this first dance photo? It looks like they're feeling so lucky to have so many friends & family witnessing their special day. That or maybe Paul's thinking "I can dance better than anyone in this room!" Either way, Cindy & Paul, you are loved by many that wish only the best marriage ever for you both!

Lots of fun stuff to share on the blog this week. First up is the Florida Hospital Graduate Medical Education Ceremony that took place on Sunday. I have been looking forward to sharing this event as it is a fun and happy time that includes not only the graduates but their families. It feels like a full circle moment where everyone reflects back on how they've arrived at where they are and what they've accomplished. Lots of emotions.

Location was the same as last year's ceremony: Sheraton Maitland North.

Maitland is neat. Even though it's in the city, everything is lush and green. Looks like they took great care in planning to include huge oak trees and lots of natural habit. My kind of place.

The Hotel has a beautiful atrium and I'm constantly looking for just the right angle to photograph it. This time I tried lying down in the bar and looking up. The staff, I'm sure, wondered if I'd already had too much to drink but I was undeterred. Finally, I just went up the glass elevator to the 5th floor and that gave a nice view. I wanted to go up one more floor but it seems that floor requires a special key and no one would give it to me. Miffed!

The gift shop is always fun while waiting for the event. I wonder how many family members stop by and buy something for the graduate. Just don't ask the gift shop clerk what these ceramic things are used for...........apparently they're valuable collectables and I'm totally out of the loop on that subject. She gasped when I asked her. In fact, I had to ask her twice and she said, in all her years, no one had ever asked her that. Just just pretend you know if you go in but she said something like "If someone gave you a ceramic angel, what would you do with it?" I told her it would probably end up in a closet. Case closed!

Are these not the cutest kids ever? The Mom told me their Mimi made their dresses.Where in the world do people find these "Mimi's" AND I hope my grandkids never have such high expectations! Seriously, these kids are pretty excited about Daddy's graduation. I think it must mean something like "Yay! Now Daddy can buy us some fun toys"............meaning cool toys, like Ipads, IPhones and more. While the girl to the far left said the graduate is her uncle and not her dad, she still knows fun stuff is in the works! Kids are instinctive.

This is Rebecca getting a special award for all her work in co-ordinating the event. She's the hardest working and most loved co-ordinator ever.

I hope these Docs are scrutinizing the program and not the blue card. That's the photo viewing info. Did I make a typo? Docs have hawk-eye vision, you know. And you want them to...........they're you Doc and you don't want them to miss a thing when you visit them.

Is is just me or do these Doctors look extra fabulous? Congratulations to all of you!

After all the accolades, hoopla and fanfare, this is how it always ends. While they're pretty proud of their graduating parent, sleep is going to win them over. Take a look at those sweet faces. They'll be among the next graduating class of Docs in the coming years! All that money that you're about to make Mom or Dad? Save a nice big chunk for tuition!

This event has become one of my favorite venues.  Florida Hospital Department of Medical Education Graduates. This will be my 2nd year photographing their graduation and here's hoping this will be the 2nd of many more. This year the event will be at the same awesome location: The Sheraton Maitland North. At the entrance there is an amazing atrium that I imagine is the setting for some beautiful weddings. On that note, perhaps i should inquire! Also, last year I was so in awe of the inside, I completely missed the pool area but this time I'm checking that out.....hmmmm...any graduates want photos poolside? You've definitely earned the R&R!

One of the reasons that I love this event so much is not only are these the most hard working, dedicated medical students around but they are all so incredibly family oriented. Many have children and my hat is off to anyone who can go thru medical school AND be a parent. As parents, we all know the time that goes into that role. It seems they all manage it flawlessly and I'm sure they have great back up support via family and grandparents. So the graduation event seems to be a culmulation of gratitude and celebration for all of the hard work that went into getting their degree. When I go to see a doctor now, I always remember that and it has given me a whole new respect for the medical field.

And how did I become associated with the venue, you ask? (Pretend with me!) Well, we have one of these super smart graduates in our family that graduated a few years back. He now has a fantastic podiatry practice in Lake Nona: Dr. Joseph Conte. Check out his website and I've come to learn that all of us will need a podiatrist in our lifetime...it's a given! Anyway, like all the Docs that graduate from Florida Hospital, he's a terrific person that also happens to be a Doc.

2011 Graduate photos will be up next week. Oh, and the chocolate fountain, I think they ordered that just for me!
