Savannah's photo session not a typical venue for me. Being a wedding & portrait photographer, I don't get a  lot of requests for glamour or modeling portfolios. While some brides do request boudoir sessions, often those are private and don't get posted on the blog. But when Savannah & her Mom, Kim, asked, I said yes because I knew Savannah's Ralph Lauren-ish features were perfect for  an outdoor, natural light venue, which is pretty much all I shoot. Nothing wrong with a studio-strobe set up location but the studio often fall short of letting  the true personality and natural beauty shine thru. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the results! Let's all wish Savannah the best of luck in pursuing her modeling career. She is a really sweet, kind and gentle person that also happens to be gloriously beautiful! I totally love how she takes her looks in stride. We did our photo shoot at Florida Institute of Technology and I can tell you there were quite a few young college guys stealing glances and pretty much tripping over themselves. Ok, so I've been out to that venue a lot now & first time I've had those kind of reactions! What's up with that??! Seriously, though, modeling really is a lot of hard work, determination and oh-so-much competition. Go Savannah! I am one of your biggest fans!

The fur was Savannah's grandmother's. I betting she was gorgeous too!

It was lots of fun meeting  up with Allie & TJ to capture engagement photos for their upcoming October wedding at Holy Name of Jesus followed by a reception at the Crowne Plaza Oceanfront. Their wedding is going to have some fun surprises and unique touches so I am thrilled to be photographing their special day. Their engagement session almost didn't happen.....rain clouds looming and since Allie & TJ live out of town, our timeline was limited.......not much room to maneuver. After some hesitation, we decided to go for it and, thankfully, it worked out perfectly. Allie's parents brought the newest family member at the end of the session and we just had to include Brodie in a few photos.... he's adorable!

Allie & TJ, I adore you three (yes, you too, Brodie)! Can't wait for October wedding.......and to meet your wonderful families!

Allie & TJ can pull off serious & romantic, followed by.........

Stephanie + Brian/Part 2: Post Wedding Photos Click here to view ONLY this message
Post wedding photo sessions definitely aren't the norm.......but, really, they should be!  When I ask brides if they would like to add this feature to their wedding package, the first question is "Why in the world would I want to do that?"  But then, when I patiently explain "why" they should, then.........they get it! It's worth the time and effort, for sure. The wedding day is wonderful, full of excitement, anticipation, oh......and just one more thing....timelines (not the Facebook kind). Once the wedding day gets underway, the agenda is set in stone and there's only so much time for bridal photos. So a few of my brides are discovering that it's actually a fun adventure to put the dress back on, head on out to the beach or nature area for some relaxing and carefree bridal portraits within a day to a few weeks of the wedding. A little salt, a little water and sand on the hem........no problem. It'll clean up beautifully and it's headed to the cleaners anyway. No stress and total fun and relaxation. I guess you could think of it like a "trash the dress session" without the trash part. Honestly, I just can't see the point because my brides spend a $$$$ on those dresses. I want portraits..........beautiful portraits for my brides. So enjoy a few of Stephanie's post wedding photo session. I won't lie. It was hot. A few bugs and lots and lots of fun. What a great memory for your wedding album.

Post wedding photo expressions are always so relaxed and happy. Isn't Stephanie gorgeous?

Playing catch up on the blog. Next up another engagement session and some gorgeous modeling portfolio shots. Stick around for all of that fun!

VIVIENNE+MICHAEL=ENGAGED/COCOA BEACH FL WEDDINGS Click here to view ONLY this message
It seems only a short while ago I was sitting down with Vivienne & Michael talking about all of the wedding details, sharing in their excitement about the wedding planning. And now......here we are already looking back over their recent engagement photo session and eagerly awaiting their October wedding at the DoubleTree Hilton in Cocoa Beach. I just love Vivienne & Michael. They are easy going, constantly laughing, joking with each other and not taking life too seriously. They move step in step with each other and probably can finish the other one's sentence or thought for that matter. I've always felt that is a fabulous feature to have in your relationship. On a personal level, I especially like that because I know if I stopped speaking or lost my voice, my husband would be able to know what I wanted most, you know... like, chocolate or ice cream or even watermelon. Ok, so, I like to eat and it's July, and who doesn't need ice cream or watermelon in July?! But seriously, it's great to see how connected Vivienne & Michael are......just really in love with each other.

If you follow me on Facebook (and if you don't, here I am!) , you know I've already posted a few of their engagement photos plus a timeline for their page. Recently, I've added that to my wedding packages (free!) and its just another way for couples to share in their happiness with their friends. Enjoy!

A prop loaner from a lady walking her dog.....so cute! Thanks!

FAMILY BEACH VACATION PORTRAITS/BEVERLY BENNETT PHOTOGRPAHY Click here to view ONLY this message
I was really happy to photograph Paula's family while on vacation at the beach here in Indian Harbor Beach. Especially when I learned there were 2 grandchildren in tow.....and, ooohh, were they cuties!  I love it when families take vacations together because you can relax and actually play with the kids. When I met up with the family they were all tanned, glowing and rested........well, as rested as you can be little ones. What a precious time in their lives.......Here's hoping the photos that we captured will remind them of these happy times years into the future. Of course, the kids will remember thru the photos............Don't you just love looking at your childhood photos and even though you don't remember that exact moment, you just know it was the best time ever in your life.........so carefree, so loved and time stood still!

And my favvv.....as we ended the session, this one fell asleep in her parents' arms!

Colin is 2} Toddler Photography/Melbourne Beach, Fl Click here to view ONLY this message
Colin is 2! Yes, & that's a great age to have fun but photographing a 2 year old can be a little challenging...just keeping up with them is challenging! Getting a portrait-memory can be even more difficult but I find the best photos just come from letting them have free reign, chasing them around &  letting things unfold in a natural, happy, smiley face kind of way. After all, that's the point of natural settings vs. the studio portrait, which is stiff, predictable & miserable....for children/DADS especially. I'll bet most of us can remember  Mom dragging us out on a Saturday morning to a studio for that family photo in which everyone was grumbling........then, sit......fake smile.....resume grumbling....

Stephanie, Colin's Mom, is super athletic and strong, which is a good thing because, to my surprise, she could lift him up and swing him around even though he is solid weight! Gave him the best smiles ever. What kid doesn't like to fly with Mom?!  I think we made out pretty good in spite of the heat, bugs, chasing, calling ("this way, Colin", "Is that a butterfly over here?") and more! Enjoy your little guy.......at the rate he's growing, I'll be scheduling his senior photo session next week!

    Next is my favv.......
