Surprise Engagement! Senior Photos

Family Photography: New Family Member! Click here to view ONLY this message

Every little girl has dreams of starting out in life with a princess carriage, riding along dressed as a mermaid, right?!

I have been waiting for this little girl to join her family for a while. I've been photographing this family since their first child was a year or so old. Both children + mom & dad are beautiful people so I knew what to expect when this one was born. We had to postpone the newborn session thanks to a series of storms and not-so-nice weather (think rain in buckets!). Just goes to show you can still get awesome newborn-like photos even after one month of age.  I love the location of the parents home. A lake sits in the back and they get those beautiful sunsets reflecting of the water, pretty foliage to buffer the sun, etc. If you're thinking of doing family photos and you have small children, at home photos can save you lots of stress and anxiety! Your home will always offer a good opportunity to capture memories. Trust me! You don't have to live in a castle. Just some good outdoor light!

    Cutest little peacock ever!

Super handsome little dude + big brother! My first photos of this guy involved holding my car keys throughout the session! For some reason, they were very entertaining and allowed us the get our shots!

As photographers and parents, we all tend to be guilty of wanting to capture those Pinterest quality/perfect photos (however unrealistic with two little ones with their own agendas!).) However, I believe the most memorable & meaningful photos can come from the ones that are real & not perfectly posed!

    Mom & daughter = love!

My dear friend Nicole gave me most of these amazing props & backdrops. Truthfully, I never have any this fancy. I'd love to put them to more use if you'd like to use them for your photo session. And it would make Nicole very happy to share them!

We ended up shooting until dark because the sun sets so fast these days, unlike summer sunsets. Glad I remembered to bring a flash! I love this family. They are such wonderful parents & I love watching their kids grow thru all those milestones.

Thanks for stopping by to view my work. If you're in the market to capture family photos beyond the i-phone (which I also love), let's talk!
