I was notified this morning that Dennis R Plush passed away this morning
from and Agent Orange related cancer. Dennis served as a radioman with Sub
Unit 5, HQ BN, 3rd MarDiv He was at Khe Sanh for just about all of 1967.
Dennis was there when the USAF mistakenly bombed the village of Lang Vei
resulting in the death of 100 or so civilians and about 175 wounded on
March 2, 1967. Dennis was among the Marines from the KSCB who evacuated
the wounded and placed them on planes for transport to medical facilities.
Dennis was also at the base in support of the Hill Battles in the spring of
1967. Funeral services will be Saturday Dec 6, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home
in Riverton, Wyoming. Dennis was 78 years old. Dennis attended KSV
reunions in Chicago 2005 and Denver 2009. Dennis was a friend and

Hey Dave-
The "New" Message Board is absolutely,
positively intended for the
general membership to post thoughts, have
conversations,
and pass on
information.
All of the
historical information, articles, Short Round messages, etc are elsewhere
on the "new" web site: khesanh.vet.
Our hope is that lots of
members will read the Message Board regularly and rely it to exchange ideas
and information.
Obviously, we need to improve something so
that this is obvious to all.
Please, bring on any suggestions
to help us achieve this goal.

improvement. Happy to chat by phone if easier.

An open letter to the KSV membership,
I have been currently
following the NEW KSV bulletin board
and one thing I have noticed is the
shift away from a place to exchange ideas
and general conversation to one
of being a historical one.
It was MY understanding that the NEW
board was for the
general membership to post thoughts, have conversations,
and pass on
information, not just for historical reference.
I
appreciate the time and effort spent on the New board, but
where is the
space on the NEW board for this interaction to take place. Been there, done
that, got the ribbons, read
the books, watched the YouTube videos, and
talked to Dennis about the battle.
As stated, I appreciate the time
and effort spent getting
this board up and running, but please explain
this shift.
Thank you for your attention to this
matter.

Pensacola Reunion

Thanks to all -- especially Russ and Kathy -- who made the reunion so successful. All that hard and dedicated work is much appreciated. Joan and I had a great week. I'd list the others who were involved making it so meaningful: PX; Silent Auction; Hospitality Room and the back and forth to keep the snack food and the libation table and ice chests always at the ready; ladies luncheon; and so much more. Don't want to mention any names and leave someone out, but Tom Ford gave me $20.00 to mention his name and now I have done so.  As Russ said, "We lost 4 members over the last year and 4 newcomers at their initial reunions." Wonder where they've been? Maybe Witness Relocation? For Khe Sanh Vets more than 90% of our lives are in the rear view mirror. If you can, come to San Antonio next year if you can. S/F Dennis

passing of a great Freind & brother

was going to post something yesterday but could not bring myself to do
so. It is sad to think it was 1 year ago yesterday that we lost Tommy. I
know we all miss him in our own way. However in the last 10-15 years we had
grown so close it was like a blood brother to me. Since his passing I lost
my true brother this past August then 24 hours later My brother in law
passed as well. So it has been a trying year for me. I guess that is way I
am looking so forward to this Reunion. Hope to see many of my brothers in
arm next week. For all who are coming have a safe trip and see you then.

Hi-
I saw some email traffic which I
think had an issue with me using the term Gulf Of America in the Reunion
write up. I am the editor Bob Koury and you can contact me directly with
any comments or suggestions at [email protected].
BTW, our Commander In Chief ordered that we use that
term to describe the body of water. My personal oath required allegiance
to the chain of command and I still follow it regardless of politics.
There are still so many important things we have to
accomplish, like the scholarship fund, and outreach to the families of our
Fallen, I hate to see energy wasted on trivial stuff.

I have an update for the reunion
regarding the Blue Angels
practice viewing and Museum tour. Anyone attending the reunion and have signed up for this
tour - EVERYONE MUST HAVE
A REAL ID OR PASSPORT TO ENTER. NO EXCEPTIONS
I'VE LISTED THE
OTHER NOTES BELOW.
NOTES FOR YOUR UPCOMING
REUNION
Here are some requirements that will be necessary for
completion before your Pensacola Khe Sanh reunion.
ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
FOR NASP ENTRANCE
1.
Everyone must have a Real ID (Yellow Star on License) or a Passport (must
have your picture) 2. Only clear see thru bags allowed inside the Museum 3.
For front gate access a 20 year+ retiree is needed for every 15 people
onboard. 4. Two 20 year+ retirees should sit in the front of each trolley
5. Without the 20 year+ quota we will have to use the West
gate
6. The Museum is cool. You may want to
layer a long sleeve shirt 7. Sunscreen may be in order for the flight line
and the Blue Angel practice show 8. If you lack hair please wear a hat 9.
Let me know if wheelchairs are needed at the Museum. They are available for
check out. CUBI BAR MENU 10. We will eat in two shifts at the Cubi Bar. 11.
Group ONE will eat at 1130 and will be identified by one red star on your
guest ID tag given to you when boarding the trolley 12. Group TWO will eat
at 1215 and will be identified by two red stars on your ID tag 13. There is
quite a distance to walk from the flight line to the Cubi Bar. If you can
walk, please make sure you have an ID tag with one red star for the 1130
seating 14. A trolley will be available to ride to the Museum after all the
walking public has cleared the flight line area and the trolley is allowed
to proceed to the gate. This group will need to have an ID tag with two red
stars 15. If the numbers goes over 100, we may have to eat in 3
shifts.

Saw an interesting side note in the book "The Second World Wars” by
historian Victor Davis Hanson concerning Sieges. "…Following WWII, there
was once again the expectation in the age of guided missiles and motorized
armies that besiegers would no longer attempt to batter their way into
strongholds and cities. Yet both successful and failed blockades remained
common as ever…..Dien Brien Phu (1954) that did not, to the unconquerable
defenders at Khe Sanh (1968)…..
