First, I really love this family. They are super cool, easy going, and just fun to be around. Little Eli. What can I say? At 9 months, he's got to be the cutest kid out there. I never knew a 9 month old could have so much adorable hair. We have kids in our family and well, the 3 year old just had "sprouts" for the first couple of years, but now it's all there, happy to report. Eli's Mom, Shannon, was one of my first wedding clients. I really should pull out some of her beautiful wedding files as it's amazing how little she has changed. Well, maybe she has changed a little because I think she's even more beautiful as a Mommy. JESSICA: SWEET 16 MELBOURNE PHOTOGRAPHER Click here to view ONLY this message Jessica's Mom planned this Sweet 16 party down to every little detail (along with Jessica's help of course)! Since Jess & her Mom recently moved here from New York, naturally the party had a New York City girl theme. So cool. Lot's of family came down from NY and they rocked the birthday girl in style. So much love in this family and of course there were a number of tear jerker moments. What Mom can recount those special little growing up stories without making all us Mamas cry?Why do our babies have to grow up?Ok, I digress. Back to Jessica. She has an amazing personality. In the short while since starting school here, it looks as if she has a zillion friends already. Special shout- out to her ROTC buddies. Those guys & girls are cool. While I felt like the world's oldest teenager, they didn't give me any "but you're old" looks and left me alone to jump into the mix, get lots of great photos and live my "yes I really am 16 too" fantasy. PART 1: THE DAY AFTER: MELBOURNE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER Click here to view ONLY this message Meeting up with Megan & Garrett for some no rain photos after the recent storm was the best decision ever. Talk about fun wedding photos & it allowed them to relax and be playful. It's almost a shame that every bride doesn't get this opportunity. Now I'm not wishing a storm for every wedding day so maybe as more of my future brides see these photos, they will want "day after" photos as well. And that little trash the dress moment! Who would have ever known how exhilarating that could be? Don't think I've ever seen a bride feel so free. By the way, those dresses clean up just fine at the cleaners. You'll never wear it again and don't fool yourself into thinking your future daughter is going to wear it. Did you wear you Mother's? Your daughter will view anything in your wardrobe as old not vintage. It will only count as vintage if she finds it at the upscale vintage boutique. Trust me! So now I've changed my ways & trash the dress is super cool. Thank you Megan for showing me the light. So glad you didn't discuss prior to doing it with your Mom or at least until my check cleared the bank. I'm thinking she'd have a word or two me me! Worth it? For sure! Hope you love the photos Mom & Dad. If not, it wasn't my idea. Really. The surf came up reeealllly fast. Accident, sort of...... Will post Part II in the coming days. Surprise there too! Before flying home today, I met up with Garrett & Megan for a (2) day after wedding session. Even better than day of wedding shoot because we could take our time, have fun & NO pressure of getting back to the party, guests. Stay tuned for the full blog post. We even ended up with a little unintentional but super fun mini trash the dress (sort of) moment. I'm in love with this couple's love for each other.
