Are blogs still relevant? I didn't realize how slack I've been in posting to this site until I looked at the dates of the photos! If anyone knows a straight forward way of linking my instagram photos to my blog, I'd tell you just how awesome and amazing I think you are........ All of my updates and current stuff land over there @

The number one question aspiring photographers ask me after "What camera do you use?" is "How do you get your shots?" because while they are posed, they do have a natural, relaxed look. The answer is simple. Focus on lighting, focus on posing, keep in mind what you want your end goal to look like, but most of all take the time to develop a connection with the person you are photographing. When you initially meet someone to take their photo, put down your camera and get to know them! What are their interests, what do they want their photos to say about them? Just basic stuff that photographers, in their zest to capture that image, often forget to ask! After all, it's easy to capture a good "snapshot" of a model with any device, ie. that amazing iphone! So, I find the difference between the iphone/novice photographer and a good professional photographer is how the professional photographer captures a memorable image that more clearly defines the subject and how they want to remember a certain point in life (and not just what the photographer wants the image to be!)
I'd love to hear what your dream photoshoot would include. We can make it happen, working together!
Best to you,
