Blogging this year has taken off a bit slow so I'm trying to catch up sharing a few sessions. It's interesting that the year has started off with so much variety.........My sessions have gone something like this: Boudoir Sessions then Maternity Sessions followed by Newborn Sessions.......all in that order! (Ok, to be clear the weddings all took place some time in the past! Some before the boudoir session, some after!!) At any rate, if you think about it, that's just about the natural order of things!
I loved photographing the newborn session I'm sharing today. I'v photographed this little girl's brother several times in the past as well & he's equally adorable. While I'm at it, I'd like to clarify my style & how I photograph newborns. All of my sessions are done in the client's home & the items I use to photograph babies are personal items belonging to the family. Babies in buckets are really cute but I decided a long time ago that they are not very personal to the baby or family. I want them to look back on the photos years from now and say....."oh so that's what our family life was like".......or "I can see how happy my family when I was born". I just want the memories to be "memorable" for all and not just a cute photo that gets tucked away and forgotten. Of course, we can still do a baby in the bucket photo if that's important to you...........but it will definitely not be the focus of the captures.
If you follow my blog, you may recognize this American Eskimo dog. We always include him in some of our photos because he's a very important member of the family. I love how much they love him..............I am a huge dog lover. I will forever miss my American Eskimo so when I visit this family, I know I am going to leave feeling happy!
How cute is this big brother?!
It was great that the Grandmother was visiting. So glad to have captured this loving moment.
And this!
It was the best Christmas ever for this family!
It was rainy. It was cool.........but we had to do one photo in the yard!
And then this little miss was done with her session! Can't wait to watch her grow.
