2015 January Newborns + Families Click here to view ONLY this message

Blogging this year has taken off a bit slow so I'm trying to catch up sharing a few sessions. It's interesting that the year has started off with so much variety.........My sessions have gone something like this: Boudoir Sessions then Maternity Sessions followed by Newborn Sessions.......all in that order! (Ok, to be clear the weddings all took place some time in the past! Some before the boudoir session, some after!!) At any rate,  if you think about it, that's just about the natural order of things!

I loved photographing the newborn session I'm sharing today. I'v photographed this little girl's brother several times in the past as well & he's equally adorable. While I'm at it, I'd like to clarify my style & how I photograph newborns. All of my sessions are done in the client's home & the items I use to photograph babies are personal items belonging to the family. Babies in buckets are really cute but I decided a long time ago that they are not very personal to the baby or family. I want them to look back on the photos years from now and say....."oh so that's what our family life was like".......or "I can see how happy my family when I was born". I just want the memories to be "memorable" for all and not just a cute photo that gets tucked away and forgotten. Of course, we can still do a baby in the bucket photo if that's important to you...........but it will definitely not be the focus of the captures.

If you follow my blog, you may recognize this American Eskimo dog. We always include him in some of our photos because he's a very important member of the family. I love how much they love him..............I am a huge dog lover. I will forever miss my American Eskimo so when I visit this family, I know I am going to leave feeling happy!

How cute is this big brother?!

It was great that the Grandmother was visiting. So glad to have captured this loving moment.

    And this!

It was the best Christmas ever for this family!

It was rainy. It was cool.........but we had to do one photo in the yard!

And then this little miss was done with her session! Can't wait to watch her grow.

If you'd like your little one captured in this style, you can contact me at 321 543 2357. I'd love to plan how to best document your newborn's first days at home.

    Carla & Mitch

My last wedding of the year 2014 was at The Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach. Sorta felt full circle for me because that was the location for one of my first weddings a number of years ago. It will always be a favorite venue for me. It's where I live & I pass by it almost every day. It always makes me feel happy & hopeful. It's also historical & was built in 1892! It's small, intimate & filled with loving & meaningful memories. So it was that Carla & Mitch exchanged their vows and professed eternal love at this beautiful place. It was a gorgeous & simple ceremony & the Chapel was particularly pretty because of the Christmas decor. Love the candelabras.......

One of the sweetest moments was when Carla was walked down the aisle by her Mom.

Carla, you have so much grace & elegance.

    And then there was this..............

The day was perfect. Love winter weddings as the lighting by the river was soft & pretty even in the early afternoon. (Think July = intense sun + heat.)

Carla & Mitch, you are beautiful together. I am so thankful our paths crossed & that you trusted me to capture your wedding day memories. Wishing you the happiest of memories as you start your married life together in Texas. Also hoping that you will return to (Melbourne Beach) Florida often & that when you do, it will also feel like you are "coming home" here as well!
